Welcome to Your Vote Day

On Thursday 10th March we celebrate Welcome to Your Vote Day!

This day is about publicising your right to vote in Scotland. If you’re 16 or over and a resident in Scotland you can vote in the council elections on Thursday 5th May, regardless of where you were born.

Due to recent changes in the law in Scotland, these elections will be the first opportunity for many New Scots to have their say on who they want to represent them in their council.

Councils make decisions on a range of issues which affect our everyday lives, including education, social care, housing, leisure services, and rubbish and recycling collection.

Click here and put in your postcode to find what Ward you are in West Dunbartonshire and who your current Councillors are.

People in Scotland must be registered by midnight on Monday 18th April to vote in these upcoming elections. You can register now at gov.uk/register-to-vote

No matter where you live in Scotland you can now vote in the upcoming council elections. To get your vote, register now.
